When talking about the Chinese tea, we often speak of Yixing, in the name of the region who gave up the extinction of its recent veins of clay, precious Zhun, to name a few.
But there is also another source of tea, from Guangdong province and more specifically the mountain Feng Huang (Phoenix), where trees grow to Dan Cong. These teapots Chao Zhou, named after a city of this region. They are made out of clay with the same composition as the land to grow these premium tea.
One of their characteristic is to be shot and not assembled in the manner of Yixing. After more than a century of practice, Chao Zhou style potters have gained great experience and some are now known for their expertise in Yixing.
